May
Is Adopt-A-Senior Month.
Most people are apprehensive about adopting an older hound. They shy away from adopting a senior because they believe the pet might have health or behavioral issues. A hound over 8 years of age, senior’s come into our care for a variety of reasons. Often it’s not the grey who was the problem, but the human. Their family moves, a new baby arrives in the house, a household member develops allergies, the human no longer has time for the animal… The reality why older pets are given up to shelters or rescue groups is the same as any other - owners can’t take care of them anymore, or sadly just don’t want them anymore.
During the month of May, Greyhounds Unlimited will waive the adoption fee for all greys 8 years or older to any individual who has previously adopted from GU. As well, GU will waive half of the adoption fee for greys 8 years or older to any new adopters.
Here's our Senior Line Up...

Adopting a senior is a wonderful experience and we have several awaiting adoption. These hounds still have time to bring joy to you and are just looking for that one special home to cherish them for the rest of their life.
