The Story of Duchess:

GU recently received a call from a women in the Crockett area about two mistreated greys.

The caller had convinced a man (living nearby) to give up the greyhounds. His plan was to breed the pair and make money. The female never went into heat, and he was letting them starve.

After taking custody of the greyhounds, the lady turned over Duchess and Royal to GU's care.

Duchess is a sweet tiny girl. She was underweight when we picked her up. Taking her to a vet, we confirmed that she has Heartworm. We also discovered Duchess had an old fracture of her left tibia, probably from the track that was never corrected. Luckily, it doesn't bother her.

Duchess is slowly regaining her weight. She will begin her first Heartworm treatment next week. Hopefully, all will go well.

Duchess is cat friendly indoors and loves to be with people. She just wants lots of love and assurance from her foster family.

GU is greytful to the lady who rescued these beautiful creatures and contacted us. They are now on the long road to recovery.

Duchess still needs to put a little weight on, but she is done with her heartworm treatment and is now waiting for her new family to share her love with.  She loves to follow you around the house inside and out to keep you company. She is very laid back and yet loves to run around outside with the other greys she is being fostered with.

Female, 4 yrs old, Brindle, cat friendly
