Bio
Duff has been in his foster home since 9/1/15. He is estimated to be 5-6 years old; picked up as a stray in February 2015. Duff is a wonderful companion, and follows his foster mom from room to room. He’s quiet, loves affection, gets along with all the sighthounds in the house, walks superbly on a loose leash.
When Duff arrived in his foster home, he weighed 125 pounds, which was at least 25 pounds too much. His foster mom carefully limits his food intake, and he’s lost 27 pounds so far! His weight on 1/3/16 was 97.4 pounds. He is a bit taller than most male greyhounds. He is listed as a black greyhound cross - has a deerhound/wolfhound look to his face. A DNA swab was sent to the lab and the report says he is 3/4 greyhound. The other 1/4 goes too far back in his history to be identified scientifically, but their guess based on his size and face is what we suspected: deerhound or wolfhound.
Duff is one of the smartest dogs his foster mom has fostered. He figured out the pet door within 24 hours. He learned to SIT in lesson #2. He is making good progress on learning not to barge through doorways when excited. He is not fearful or timid, loves all people especially men, and does not react to thunderstorms. He hops easily into the car and rides well. He learns quickly tries super hard to please, and makes adorable eye contact. When invited, he will enthusiastically join you on the couch or bed for snuggles.
