Since Greyhounds Unlimited is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization
with no paid staff, support in a variety of areas is a constant
need. One of our most critical is the need for foster
homes to help prepare a greyhound for their forever home.
Perhaps you would like to volunteer to
help washing, walking and spending some one-on-one time with the
greyhounds in the foster kennel the first Saturday of each month;
or help in a monetary way by donating a vehicle,
committing to the senior and special needs
food/care fund, or sponsoring the
website for a month.
Other levels of support are listed below and we hope you will
consider helping in whatever way you can. Cash donations are always
welcome, and 100% of all donations support the ongoing needs of
the greyhounds in GU's care. If you would like to make a tax-deductible

Due to the large
number of dogs in our care, GU has started a new foster program.
We are in need of Foster Homes to help us get our wonderful greys
ready for their permanent home. If you already have a greyhound
of your own, won't you consider opening your hearts and homes
to these greys waiting for their chance at happiness? If you're

2008
SENIOR & SPECIAL NEEDS GREYHOUNDS FOOD/CARE FUND
GU's senior, special
needs and convalescing greyhounds consume a 24+ can case of dog
food per day. We are looking for 30 greyhound lovers to help with
this cause just to cover the expenses of their food for one month.
It only takes a $25/month commitment; however, we are Greytful
for all designated donations in any amount.

in this special labor of love for these older, special needs and
the convalescing boys and girls, please print* and fill out a

PLAN-4-PUPS CLUB
It's easy to help
- just clip the weight circles from Pro Plan or any Purina Pet
Food and mail them to:

GU will collect and
submit (it takes 250 pounds worth of weight circles each time)
them to Purina for a rebate check good for Pro Plan dog food.
It is a way your family of hounds, and cats, can help all their
greyhound friends who have not yet found their forever homes.

KROGER
CARDS AND TOM THUMB REWARD CARDS
Kroger and Tom Thumb will donate a percentage of all purchases made when you use your Kroger or Tom Thumb Reward Cards. Your Tom Thumb Reward Card can be automatically linked to GU by simply giving the cashier GU's Good Neighbor Number - 2743. Kroger provides a "Customer Letter" with a barcode specific to Greyhounds Unlimited. You will need to print-out the Customer Letter and take it to your Kroger store to get GU linked to your KrogerPlus Card.
The amount of your purchases at Tom Thumb and Kroger will register to our account, and a percentage of this total is sent to GU periodically.

Venus, my sweet girl. . .
You came into my life on January 18, 1998. What a pistol
you were. . .no manners and into everything! So beautiful
and sleek, full of boundless energy and loving your new
life. You were always so happy to welcome guests in, and
if your playful charge didn't knock them down, your long
wagging tail would! You would go into the den every night
at 11 and SPIN!!! When you exhausted yourself in one direction,
you stopped to catch your breath and starting spinning
in the other direction. What a silly girl! You were always
content to sleep on the couch through hours of music lessons.
Forever afraid of the leash, walks, and trips in the car.
. .I know you were just happy to be the "Queen"
of your house and your own yard.
Venus, you were there for me through some difficult times.
. .you were my loyal companion, friend, and my "never
pushy" beddie buddy. I love you, my precious girl,
and I miss you so much. Little Ray misses you, as do all
of your boys. They love you, too.
You never complained or cried. I know you were ready much
sooner than I could bear to let you go. On June 3, 2006,
as I held you in my arms, I know you crossed the Rainbow
Bridge peacefully and thankfully. It makes me happy to
know that you are there romping happily with Murphy.
It is with much gratitude that I write this in your honor,
my Venus. You brought so much pleasure, love, joy, and
humor into my life. I will remember the good times, but
I will always love and miss you.
