Bio
Phantom Arizona is a beautiful red fawn greyhound from Australia who turned 3 years old on 10/30/23. His mates call him AZA, and this loving boy wants everyone to be his friend! Aza presents his head when he wants to be petted and he loves having his head and neck rubbed. He has some Velcro tendencies and will follow his foster humans so closely that he sometimes gives head butts. Seeing ‘his’ people after even a short separation results in his whole body wagging, barks of excitement, and all 4 feet coming off the ground with enthusiastic jumps.
We have seen no signs of aggression toward the cat in the household; mostly they ignore each other. Aza has experienced rainstorms and strong winds since coming to his foster home and has handled both without any sign of discomfort. He does like to bark at doorbells, even if they are on TV.
Aza loves to play with toys, the other 2 greyhounds he is living with, and the humans. He often carries a toy around and much prefers to collect them on his bed than leave any in the toy basket. He enjoys having a toy thrown for him to jump on.
Aza is doing very well with house training and has not made any potty mistakes in his foster home. His forever home may have to work with him a bit on letting the humans know when he needs to go out; he has been following the lead of the resident dogs when they ask to go out.
Aza crates well and is learning to go into the crate designated as his on command. He has been sleeping through the night on a dog bed in the bedroom with the rest of the human and dog pack. Aza mastered the stairs on his first day in his foster home.
